HashiCorp Terraform is an infrastructure as code tool that lets you define both cloud and on-prem resources in human-readable configuration files that you can version, reuse, and share. You can then use a consistent workflow to provision and manage all of your infrastructure throughout its lifecycle. Terraform can manage low-level components like compute, storage, and networking resources, as well as high-level components like DNS entries and SaaS features. Terraform creates and manages resources on cloud platforms and other services through their application programming interfaces (APIs). Providers enable Terraform to work with virtually any platform or service with an accessible API.

You will be a lead developer responsible for ongoing development, maintenance and support of Terraform Providers.

What You Will Do:

• Working with the Product Owner, Developer Foundations
  • Oversee the official Terraform Provider in accordance with the Hashicorp Terraform Developer Program (https://www.terraform.io/guides/terraform-provider-development-program)
  • Gather requirements from internal product teams, internal customer facing teams and customers to to create release plans and priorities

• Follow Hashicorp Terraform guidelines and best practices for working with the Terraform community as a Verified plugin and provider

• Developing new Terraform Provider feature support
• Testing, verification and release of Terraform Provider updates, bug fixes, and patches
• Publishing release notes, announcements or other communications regarding new Terraform Provider releases
• Actively manage the Terraform Provider GitHub repository taking appropriate actions and next steps on new issues, pull requests or other grooming and maintenance requirements
• Support internal customer facing teams (Customer Support, Customer Success, Solutions Consulting, Professional Services, etc.) with Terraform and Provider related questions and customer requests (feature requests, best practices, triage)

Requisitos

• 2 years experience working with Hashicorp Terraform
• 1 year experience developing Terraform providers, modules or other advanced configurations
• 1 year experience using the Terraform SDKv2 of the Terraform Plugin Framework
• 2 years experience with GoLang development and scripting, including compilation, packaging and common IDEs such as VSC
• 3 years experience with software testing frameworks and practices for unit and acceptance testing, especially in Go (https://pkg.go.dev/testing)
• 3 years experience with software debugging and logging libraries and techniques such as delve (https://github.com/go-delve/delve) and tflog (https://pkg.go.dev/github.com/hashicorp/terraform-plugin-log/tflog)
• 3 years experience using GitHub for all phases of software development and release, branching, merging, pull requests and issue management
